RECRUITMENT FOR THE MORUNG EXPRESS DIGITAL CREW

The Morung Express is undertaking a project for which we are looking to form a Digital Crew of Video News Reporters cum Producers to create compelling original new videos for upcoming digital-only news. You’ll work on projects ranging from short-form narrative videos and even long-form documentary-style shows. You will cover hard/soft daily news as well as deep analysis stories.

Any Graduate with the right skill set can apply, but mass communication background or journalism experience will be given preference.

5 Positions are:
Team Leader (1 Vacancy)
News Reporters (4 Vacancies)

The team members will be based in Dimapur and Kohima. This assignment is on a contract basis for a 1 year period which maybe be extended.

YOU WILL:

  • Create, shoot, edit, and produce high-quality videos quickly and independently.
  • Create ideas for and experiment with new formats and content types.
  • Help coordinate post-production workflow and support freelance editors.
  • Work in a fast-paced news team that will generate many stories each day

YOU NEED:

  • Some experience with all forms of video editing.
  • A natural understanding of social platforms, digital formats, and current content trends.
  • An excellent sense of pace and timing, knowledge for the best ways to grab viewers, and how to tell a story in as little time as possible.
  • Some knowledge of video editing tools.
  • Fluency in speaking both Nagamese and English.
  • A competitive drive – you enjoy giving your best and really going for it.
  • A positive, curious, passionate and playful disposition.
  • Fascination with creating high-quality, highly shareable content.
  • Work quickly and independently – with a let’s-get-it-done attitude and a willingness to work to tight timelines and yet still provide exceptionally high-quality creative content.
  • The ability to be a strong team player.
