The most interesting conversation we’ve had so far at the CoMFIESTA’ 2019, with Sakshi Jain from Delhi Public School Dimapur.
By DOTTalks Reporters Ria Hoinato Abhishek and Chubamenla.
Reporter: hello and welcome to CoMFIESTA’ 2019, so how are you feeling about this event so far?
Sakshi: I’m really excited and I find the event really interesting and cool!
R: What are your hobbies Sakshi?
S: I like writing poetry, in fact I’m here to recite a poem I wrote for the CoMFIESTA’s Got Talent.
R: Wow! That’s really great. So what inspires you to write, especially because of the fact that you’re from the commerce department. It’s an unusual hobby for a commerce student, not that commerce students can’t write or anything but you know it’s just unusual?
S: Well, it is because of social issues in our society and this stresses on the importance of being a poet at one hand and being a student of commerce on the other. Being a poet helps me express myself and my opinions and feelings without any hurdle. And for being a commerce student, I get knowledge about business and economy of the society and country. So yes it’s a win-win situation for me.
R: Ok. So have you participated in any poetry writing competition? Have you won any such competitions?
S: Yes, I participated in a competition organised by my school and I managed to secure the 2nd position.
R: ok that’s great! So are you planning on pursuing creative writing?
S: No, my first priority is to complete my commerce studies and writing can always come in second.
R: What genre’s does your poems generally cover? Why?
S: I mostly write about empowering people and it’s contradictory because I write of a world where there is no social issue and highlight the rights of equality and such but compared to the real world it’s not happening. People are still suffering. So I want my poems to reach out to the people and become a means through which change can occur.
R: wow! That’s a very good reason. Thank you Sakshi we wish you and your school the best of luck.

A conversation with Miss Sushma Chhetri of St. Joseph’s University Dimapur.
By DOTTalks Reporters Ria Hoinato Abhishek and Chubamenla.
Reporter: Hi, so is this your first time here at Tetso?
Sushma: Yes it is.
R: So then how are you feeling to be a part of this event?
S: I’m feeling really amazing just to be here! I can’t express it in words.
R: I believe you’ve heard what our Vice-Principal had said during the keynote address. She said that the number of students studying Commerce are very less in number as compared to Arts and Science stream. So according to you what is the problem causing these less numbers?
S: In the context of Nagaland, the people think that Commerce is a very difficult stream so they end up taking up Arts and Science but actually it’s not! The stream is actually really easy and interesting, easy because with hard work anything is possible. I want to also say that we students of Commerce are as fun as the Arts and Science students!
R: Ok, so what do you do during your spare time?
S: I usually teach children.
R: Oh so what are your view on it?
S: I really love teaching children. I want to teach them and make them understand that being smart and gaining an education is not enough. Motivating themselves and others around them is the most important thing about being educated.
R: ok that awesome! So what else do you like to do in your spare time?
S: I listen to music.
R: What genre? And do you play any musical instruments as well?
S: Well I mostly only listen to gospel music and yes I’m currently learning how to play the guitar.
R: ok well thank you very much! Have a great time!

A talk with Naophe Konyak of ICFAI University Dimapur.
By DOTTalks Reporters Ria Hoinato Abhishek and Chubamenla.

Naophe: Well because Science stream is something I can never deal with, I mean I’m really weak at it and when it comes to Arts, I find it really boring. I’m being brutally honest here, so ya I chose Commerce and I find the stream actually interesting and it keeps me on my toes.
R: Ok so what are your hobbies?
N: Singing, aging badminton and dancing.
R: So do you sing a lot?
N: Well no, I mostly listen to music and I don’t think I have a very good voice so I sing to myself.!! R: How much would you rate your confidence level on a scale of 1-10?
N: probably a 7.
R: You also said you liked badminton. Have you won any inter-college matches or such?
N: Well I’m not quite the player so no but I enjoy it so I just do it for recreation!
